Makayla Ann Schroer

MaKayla Ann Schroer, the daughter of Matt and Ann (Vroman) Schroer, was born on October 11, 1999 in Sioux City, Iowa. She was welcomed into her adoptive home with open arms on October 12 to join her sibling, Hannah. She was raised in Spencer where she attended school until the 11^th grade and then finished and graduated from Spirit Lake High School.

       She started working at Little Hands Daycare for a short time and then went to work for Joyful Journey’s Preschool. She loved her jobs with the children. Makayla was a beautiful soul, kind-hearted, caring and had determination like no other. She had a passion for drawing and painting. We are very fortunate to have her paintings as memories to hold onto. She enjoyed spending time with her best friend Ben, family and loved to come back home to see our family dog , Maddie. MaKayla will be incredibly missed by everyone, especially her family.

     Makayla passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021, in Spirit Lake. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents. Toby and  Sara Schrom and her biological brother, Sam Woolery.

     Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Matt and Ann Schroer; her siblings: Hannah, Jenna, Isaiah, Alexa, Ava Schroer all of Spencer; her grandparents, Judy and Myland Vroman of Owatonna, MN and Patti and Roger Schroer of Owatonna; her biological sister, Emma Nelson (Colby) and their daughter, Layla; her best friend, Ben Maurer; her 2 aunts: Noelle (Terry) Huether and their children: Corina Rivera (Ricarte) and Morgen Huether, Tammi Veach (Eric) and their children: William and Brody; her uncles: Bryan (Nancy) Vroman and their children: Vanessa Johnson (Justin) and their daughter, JayLynne and Tyler Vroman(Grayson) and their daughter, Wilder and Andy Schroer and his children: Grace, Kooper and Ella; the family dog, Maddie; other relatives and friends.

Not flesh of my flesh

nor bone of my bone

But still miraculously

my own.
