Marcella Mae Remillard

Marcella was born on August 17, 1922 in Moneta, Iowa being the youngest of ten children to John and Anna Kriens. She attended both Moneta and Hartley schools, graduating from the Hartley High School in 1940. Following high school, Marcella received her beautician's license in Sioux City, Iowa. She then moved to Los Angeles, California during World War II and was employed at an aircraft factory. She worked as a beautician also in Los Angeles before returning to her hometown of Hartley, Iowa. She married Louis ReMillard on August 20, 1951. They raised their four children in Hartley and Spencer. There they owned and operated dry cleaning businesses. In 1975, they moved to Phoenix, Arizona opening another dry cleaning business, and later a clothing store before retiring. Marcella, 85, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2008 in Chandler, Arizona. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother who showed love and compassion towards everyone in her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. The feeling of home was always in her heart. She is preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, three sisters, and one son, Reggie. She will be dearly missed by her surviving family members; husband, Louie, daughters Vicki Fitzloff (Frank), Becky Lewis (Chuck), Marci Matt (Bill), grandchildren Ryan Fitzloff (Rochelle), Hilary Fitzloff, Joshua Lewis, Ashley Grommon (Travis), Haley Matt, great granddaughters Mallory and Audrey Fitzloff, sister-in-laws Orpha Kriens and June Trojahn, many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014
