Marcia Dawn Gallegos

Marcia Dawn Gallegos, passed away of breast cancer at her home in Camarillo, CA, on July 7, 2009. She was born on August 4, 1956, in Spencer, IA, to Richard and Margie Burgeson. She attended school in Sutherland, IA, and graduated from high school in Cherokee, IA, in 1975 and N.E. Missouri State College in Kirksville, MO, where she met and married Paul Meyer. They had two daughters. Marcia taught school in Palmdale, CA for 18 years. She was a devoted teacher and loved her students. Marcia married Gene Gallegos and they retired in Camarillo, CA. She had a darling Shih tzu, Ping, who was the love of her life. Marcia was a beautiful, caring compassionate person who had many interests including traveling, reading, decorating, enjoying her plants and flowers and helping others. Marcia leaves her daughters, Nicole and Danielle Meyer of Chatsworth, CA; her step-daughter, Emily Gallegos; her father, Richard and his wife, Sharon of Milford; her mother, Margie Bateman of Hemet, CA; her uncles: David Munson of Hemet, CA, Merlin Munson of Cherokee, IA, Ronnie Woolston of Sutherland, IA and her aunt, Janice McDaniel of Paullina, IA. She leaves her grandmother, Irma Burgeson of Spencer of Spencer, IA. She also leaves many cousins; her sisters: Julie Utecht of Sturgis SD, Julie's family and Shelley Wildeboer and her family of Cedar Falls, IA, who will miss her terribly.
