Margaret Ann Seaman passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, August 15, 2018, at Spencer Municipal Hospital. She was born in Milford, Iowa, on April 20, 1927, and she graduated from Milford HS in 1945. Her parents, Ed and Nina Chaffin, had three other children, Joan, Sarah Jane, and Truman, with Truman being the lone survivor.
After WW2, Margaret met Earlen Seaman. They were married in Jackson, MN, on November 8, 1947, and then settled down on a farm five miles south of Spencer. They had three children: Jill, 69, Mike, 68, and Lee, 62. The family was active at the Congregational Church in Greenville, with Margaret assisting in a variety of volunteer positions.
Earlen and Margaret loved to bowl, and they traveled to many tournaments throughout the United States.
In 1957 they moved to a farm just a couple of miles away, and they resided there for many years. Earlen passed away in June of 1998, and Margaret remained at the farm site where so many memories had been forged. She eventually moved into Spencer in 2002 where she lived until her final day.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, husband Earlen, sisters Joan and Sarah Jane, and granddaughter, Kayla.
She is survived by her brother, Truman; children Jill (Craig), Mike, and Lee (Carol); grandchildren Michelle (Loren), Chad (Kristy), Seth, Alex (Liz), Jesse, and Gabe (Kristen); and by great-grandchildren Ryan, Aaron, Kylee, Cowen, Porter, and Stella; as well as other relatives and a host of very dear friends.
The family is deeply appreciative of the wonderful care provided by Spencer Municipal Hospital, and is thankful for the support and warmth given by Warner Funeral Home.
