Margaret Ann Zeka, the daughter of Roland and Marie (Nelson) Saeger, was born February 16, 1946 in Genoe, Nebraska. Her childhood years were spent in the state of Nebraska, where she attended grade school in Omaha, Nebraska, continued fifth grade through 11th grade at South Sioux City, Nebraska, and finished high school in Spencer, Iowa, graduating in 1964. Margaret attended college at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Margaret was a military wife for 13 years after high school and lived in many different parts of the country. She worked part time for many businesses throughout the years, and as an insurance agent for AFLAC for 12 years until her retirement in 2002. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Spencer, where she was a member of the church choir, played the piano and sang. Her hobby was training dogs and showing them and received many awards for this.
She passed away at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, Iowa, on Friday, February 17, 2017, at the age of 71. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Ann Marie Brandt.
She is survived by one son, Edward Michael Zeka; two brothers: Don (Judy) Saeger of South Sioux City, NE, and Paul (Denise) Rabbass of Bloomfield, IA; one sister, Marilyn Pacas of Norfolk, NE; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the First English Lutheran Church in Spencer. A time of fellowship will follow the funeral services at the church.
