Margaret Lucille (Fisk) Malecki

Margaret Lucille Malecki, the daughter of Al and Bertha (Namur) Fisk, was born August 21, 1922, in Spencer, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in the Rossie area where she attended school and graduated from Rossie High School. Following graduation Margaret attended business school. In 1941, she was united in marriage to Roger Mills, in Storm Lake, Iowa. Following their marriage Margaret worked for the Farm Bureau and did various clerical work for businesses in Spencer. Margaret later went to Long Beach, California and attended beauty school. In 1954, Margaret was united in her second marriage to Frank Malecki in Long Beach California. Together the purchased Honey's Hair Salon and later changed the name to Mr. M's Hair Salon, which they owned and operated on Pacific Boulevard for 20 years. Following their retirement they moved back to Rossie where they have been for the past 16 years. Margaret was an active member of various church organizations, she was a past president of the Cosmetology Association, and has also been a devoted member of the Women of The Moose since 1952. In her free time Margaret enjoyed antiques and dogs, especially poodles. On May 17, 2007, Margaret passed away at the Ruthven Care Center at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Otto Fisk. Left to cherish her memory is her two sons: Timothy Mills, of Greenville, IA, Larry (Bonnie) Mills, of Inyokern, CA; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.
