Margie Powell

Margie Ann Powell, the daughter of Lee and Dorothy Paugh Moore, was born July 19, 1934, in Estherville, Iowa. Margie received her early education thru the 8th grade at the Emmet County Country School. She then attended Ringsted High School where she graduated in 1952. Margie then continued her education at the Iowa State Teachers College graduating in 1956 with a degree in Home Economics and minor in Art. Margie married Vern LeRoy Powell on July 19, 1958, in Jackson, MN. Throughout their marriage they made their home near Terril on a farm. Margie taught Home Economics in Terril and Art in Milford. She also worked in the elementary office and library at the Lake Center School along with helping on the farm. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, reading and gardening. Most of all, she loved her family. Mrs. Powell passed away on September 24, 2011, at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa at the age of 77. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vern on May 8, 2002; her in-laws, Verl and Irene Powell and infant son, Ryan Powell. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands: Virginia and Mike Burnham of Spencer and Janet and Spencer Lewis of Forest City, IA; one son and his wife, Bryan and Candessa Powell of Terril, IA; 11 grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Terril.

VISITATION
Will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday with the family present from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
