Marianne Elizabeth Freking, the daughter of Henry and Annarean (Poeckes) Freking, was born September 1, 1929 in LeMars, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Sioux City, Iowa, graduating from Cathedral Catholic School.
Following her high school, she worked as an accountant for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Iowa and Allis Chalmers for 33 years until her retirement in 1994. Throughout her working years, she lived in the communities of Sioux City, Omaha, Ankeny and Independence, MO, until moving to Spencer, IA following her retirement. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer, where she was active in the mission group. Marianne also enjoyed bowling in her spare time.
She passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the age of 86. Marianne was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Stanley Freking.
Left to cherish her memory are one sister, Carla Zenkovich; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, September 28, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.
