Marianne Lenhart

Marianne Rahbusch Lenhart, the daughter of Wilhelm and Catherine (Hansen) Rahbusch, was born January 20, 1928 in Germany. Her family came to America when she was an infant and they settled in Sutherland, Iowa. She received her education in the Sutherland Consolidated School. During her childhood, she did farm work and later worked at the Mental Institution in Cherokee. Marianne married Vernon 'Donald' Lenhart on November 27, 1953 in Sutherland, Iowa. After their marriage, they dairy farmed near Sutherland, where she helped on the family farm and raised her children. She was an active member of the Sutherland Church of Christ. Throughout her life, she enjoyed working and being outside on their farm with her family. She also enjoyed babysitting and taking care of the neighborhood children. She passed away at the Sutherland Care Center on Monday, January 19, 2015 at the age of 86. Marianne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald in 1986; brothers: Tom, John and William Jr Rahbusch and sisters: Ella Alberts, Christine Mathern, Betty Rienfeld and Magdelena in infancy. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Shirley Lenhart of Sutherland, Donita (Steve) Carlson of Sutherland, Carol Lenhart of Sutherland, Lin (Monte) Montgomery of Calumet and Ron (Wanda) Lenhart of Sutherland; her grandchildren: Angie (Brandon) Schueder, Amber Carlson, Ashley (Jeremy) Wulf, Ben Montgomery, Brittany (John) Erickson, Brice Montgomery, Blair Montgomery, Luke Lenhart, Logan Lenhart (fiance', Kena Patrick) and Landon Lenhart; her great grandchildren: Dylan Schueder, Tyson Wulf, Taylor Wulf, Tawni Wulf and Karianne Erickson; her siblings: Herman (Glenda) Rahbusch of Sutherland, Harry (Gloria) Rahbusch of Sutherland, Marga Wede of Cherokee, Ruth Durant of California; sister-in-laws: Vernice Rahbusch and Connie Rahbusch; special friends: Cherie (Streufert) Harms and Shane Streufert; other relatives and friends.
