Marie Leone Clarke

Marie L. Clarke was born October 2, 1921 in Ruthven, IA to Ernest and Grace Sampson Spaulding. She spent her childhood years in the Ruthven, Lost Island and Lake Center area. She married Charles J. Clarke on December 28, 1942 who preceded her in death in 1959. Marie passed away on October 6, 2016 at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO at the age of 95. She is survived by her children: Jim (Janet) Clarke of Lakewood, CO, John (Patty) Clarke of Magnolia, TX and Jo (Roy) Dixson of Edina, MO; her grandchildren: Per (Kristen) Clarke, Brice Clarke, Brad (Kristi) Clarke, Traci (Scott) Read, Jami (Amber Horne) Thompson, Brad (Teresa) Dixson, Parker (Alena) Dixson and Chase (Brandi Howerton) Dixson; her great grandchildren: Luke and Brody Clarke, Dylan, Thayer and Paisley Read and Nash, Stella and Miller Dixson; sister-in-law, Marian Clarke of Edina, MN, many cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. Marie was an active member of the First Christian Church in Spencer from 1942 until she moved to Kirksville, MO in 2012. She was employed at Bjornstad's Hardware, Asher Motors and Ellerbroeks. Marie enjoyed her church activities, Bible study, reading and baseball. She cherished the time she spent with her friends and family.
