Marilyn Ruth Stone, the daughter of Joseph Theodore and Ruth Irene (Toms) Alspach, was born April 13, 1945 in Carroll, Iowa.
Marilyn has been a long time resident of Spencer and worked at WITTCO and VERCO/Freudenburg until retiring in March of 2009. She loved bowling and spent many years on leagues. She also loved Pepsi, fishing, gardening, bird watching, flowers, poker, Facebook with family and friends, getting dirty working on cars and machinery, computer gaming, Pogo, ice fishing, BINGO, old western music and movies, Elvis and Dolphins. Most of all, Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Marilyn passed away on October 28, 2011 at her home in Spencer at the age of 66. She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother Joseph (Bud) Alspach and one infant daughter Donna Jean Stone.
She is survived by her dear friend/roommate: Vicky Fant of Spencer, IA; her daughter: Jean (Zach) Rust of Webb, IA and her three grandchildren: Jimmy Lee, Nathalie Ann and Noel Elizabeth; her brothers and sisters: Denis (Arlene) Alspach of Carroll, IA, Lea (Lyle) Hoffman of Carroll, IA, Jeanette Heilman of Rockwell City, IA, George Alspach of Fort Dodge, IA, William Dorman of Long Lane, MO, John Alspach of Clarion, IA, Carolyn Alspach of Carroll, IA, Nancy (Darrel) Heckathorn of Brookings, SD, Peter Alspach of Fort Madison, IA, Jerry (Jean) Alspach of Belmond, IA; special family: Russell Fant, Miranda (Kevin) Caldwell and children, Brittany, Kevin II, Jimmy and Samantha; many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held at 12:30 P.M., Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Legends in Spencer.
