Marjorie Evelyn Guerttman

Marjorie Evelyn Guerttman, the daughter of Wesley and Genevieve Plaine Louter, was born February 7, 1922, in Spencer, Iowa. Marjorie received her early education at the Riverton Township Country School and later graduated from the Spencer High School in 1939. Marjorie married Richard Holiday in September of 1943, in California; he passed away in January of 1945 serving his country in World War II. On February 21, 1947, Marjorie married Robert Case Guerttman at the First Christian Church Parsonage in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, they made their home in Spencer. Marjorie worked at Riemers Insurance and the First Christian Church. She retired on August 29, 1975. Marjorie was an active member of the First Christian Church in Spencer serving as Youth Leader, Sunday school teacher, Deaconess, Group Leader and church Secretary and Treasurer. Marjorie passed away on September 12, 2013, at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 91. She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; and sister, Delores McHugh. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Robert of Spencer; her children: Linda (Gary) Gaston of Spencer, IA, and Dan (Diane) Guerttman of Casper, WY; 6 grandchildren: Kristina (Ryan) Gaston Windy of Minnetrista, MN, Kimberly (Heath) Gaston McGough of Norman, OK, Robert Gaston of Hopkins, MN, Nathan Guerttman of Denver, CO, Matthew (Dani) Guerttman of Casper, WY and Kathryn Guerttman of Denver, CO; 6 great- grandchildren; two sisters: Lillian Meyer of Waukee, IA and Helen Louter of Weslaco, TX; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, September 16, 2013 at First Christian Church in Spencer.
