Marjorie Vyonne Pieratt

March 12, 1916 — September 14, 2006

M. Vyonne Backstrom Pieratt, the daughter of William P. and Jessie Lenora Feldman Clark, was born March 12, 1916 in Palo Alto County, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in the Mallard, Iowa area, where she received her education in the Mallard school district. Vyonne married Milford Clarence Backstrom on February 14, 1934. Following their marriage, they farmed in the Mallard/Curlew area. She also worked as a CNA at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg and later at a nursing home in Pocahontas, Iowa. Following her husband's death in 1973, she moved to Spencer, Iowa, where she was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was also a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Vyonne thoroughly enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she took seven of them at a time fishing. She also enjoyed playing cards, fishing and did crocheting. She married Otis Pieratt on June 24, 2000 at their home in Spencer. Vyonne passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa on Thursday, September 14, 2006 at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband, Milford Backstrom and five brothers: Merle, Stan, Elwyn, Belmond Clark and an infant brother, Billy Bob Clark. She is survived by her husband, Otis of Mountain Grove, MO; her children: Marilyn Moor & Roger Lundt of Spencer, Carol and her husband, Eldon Hurley of Curlew, Jerry Backstrom and his wife, Edie of Spencer and Shirley Eriksen of Webb, IA; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; 2 stepchildren: Carolyn & her husband, Roger Schrock of Mountain Grove, MO and Bill and his wife, Julie Pieratt of Prineville, Oregon and their extended families; one brother, Bob Clark of California; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.

VISITATION
Visitation will be from 11:30 A.M. to 9:00 P.M., with the family present from 6 to 8:00 P.M., Monday evening at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer. The Family requests that memorials be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
INTERMENT
Rush Lake Cemetery Curlew, Iowa 1:00 P.M., Tuesday following the lunch at Grace United Methodist Church
