Mark L. Smith

Mark Lewis Smith, the son of Veral and Judy Rish Smith was born July 16, 1961 in Remus, MI. His childhood years were spent in the Remus area where he graduated high school. Mark married Heidi Smith on December 19, 1987 at Chapel of Roses in Las Vegas, NV. They later divorced. He worked as a general manager for G&G Ag. Mark enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and being outdoors. He also enjoyed working with machinery, playing with RC Helicopters, spending time with his dog Cindi, and traveling, especially to Lake Fork in Texas. He was an avid reader and took pleasure in watching the live feed of the Decorah Eagles. Mark passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Saturday, April 14 at the age of 50. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Left to cherish his memory are his 2 daughters, Danielle Smith of Fostoria, IA and Olivia Smith of Emmetsburg, IA; one grandson, Byron Zielstra of Fostoria; his parents, Veral and Judy Smith of Idaho; a mother-in-law, Manuela Perez; one sister, Rebecca Smith of Phoenix, AZ; companion Brenda 'Boyer' Tiesworth of Spencer, IA; other relatives and many special friends. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been set up in Mark's name.
SERVICES
A public gathering will take place Thursday, April 19, starting at 5:00 P.M., with family present from 5-8:00 P.M., at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been set up in Mark's name.
