Mark Richard Ditsworth

     Mark Richard Ditsworth, the son of Richard Ditsworth and Josephine (Logan) Ditsworth was born October 1, 1958 in Estherville, IA. His childhood years were spent in the Estherville area, where he attended school. He moved to Spencer, IA during junior high and graduated from Spencer High School in 1978. He then attended college in Mason City, IA. Mark enlisted in the U.S. Air National Guard and served until his Honorable Discharge.

     Mark enjoyed playing drums, participating in theatre, and was the team manager for football and basketball during school. He liked reading westerns and mysteries. Mark worked as a security guard at prisons in Clarinda, IA, Rockwell City, IA, and as a government contracted security guard in Aurora, CO. He retired and returned to Spencer in 2015 due to health reasons.

     Mark passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020 at his home at the age of 61. He was preceded in death by his father Richard, and his stepfather, Del Nelson.

     Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Josephine Nelson of Largo, FL; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; 3 nieces; one nephew; other relatives; and many friends.
