Mark Steven Heddinger

Mark Steven Heddinger, the son of Shirley Mae Heddinger, was born March 4, 1952 in Hartley, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Spencer, where he attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and later graduated from Spencer High School in 1971. Mark attended a community college in Estherville. Throughout his life, Mark was devoted to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, his family and his community. He worked for himself for a time in his early years and later worked for Spencer Construction. He worked for Spencer Hospital for many years, where he held the position of laundry foreman. Mark had many friends at Sunset Apartments. A close neighbor said he had a way of delivering private and personal services and words of comfort to others. He also enjoyed playing chess, royal rummy, Euchre, Solitaire and other board games and enjoyed his trips to the casino along with having coffee at McDonald's. He was known to be loyal to his family and friends and loved his animals, especially his cat. He passed away at his home in Spencer on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the age of 65 years 5 months and 13 days. Mark is survived by his mother, Shirley Mae Heddinger of Spencer; other relatives and many friends.
