Mark Timothy Muckey, the son of Glenn and Lenora (Benthin) Muckey, was born on December 22, 1962, in Spencer, Iowa. Mark was raised in Moneta and attended the Everly Community Schools. Following graduation, he moved to Oklahoma and worked in the oil fields. Mark returned to Moneta in 1986 and worked at the IBP plant in Hartley. He then moved to the Watertown, SD area in 1993, and went to work for The Box Company. In 2003, he moved back to Spencer and went to work for Shine Brothers Corporation as a supervisor.
Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, arm wrestling, and music. Mark had to have his "boy toys", among them were his motorcycle, boat, four-wheel drive pickup, guns, rifles and his bow. Mark loved to spend time with his children grandchildren, friends and family. They were all very important to him.
Mark passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Glenda Clements.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, LaToshia Muckey of Witchita, KS; his son, Mark Muckey of Witchita, KS; five grandchildren: Seantez Muckey, Alexus Barnes, Alana Muckey, Leah Muckey and Alexis Sapien; three brothers: Terry Muckey and his wife, Opal of Moneta, IA, Larry Muckey of Sheldon, IA and Lane Muckey and his wife, Joyce of Moneta, IA; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, December 4, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in Spencer.
