Mark William Kahley, the son of Kenneth and Karen (Lidman) Kahley, was born May 16, 1968, in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Spencer, where he received his early education, graduating from Spencer High School in 1987. He continued his education at Wartburg College, where he majored in Business and minored in Economics, and ran XC all four years graduating in 1991.
After college, Mark worked throughout the midwest in retail sales for many years. He married Heather Kabrick on August 11, 2001 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer. Following their marriage, he continued his career in retail sales most currently as a Dept. Manager for Menard’s where he worked since it’s opening at the Spencer store in 2006. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer and was a past member of the Spencer Jaycees.
Mark passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer on Friday, July 31, 2020, at the age of 52 at his home surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Glen & Thelma Kahley and Joe & Karle Breidinger.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Heather of Spencer; three children: Noah Dudley of Ankeny, IA, Chloe Kahley of Spencer, IA and Saddie Kahley of Spencer, IA; his parents: Kenneth and Karen Kahley of Spencer; two brothers: Brad (Sarah) Kahley and their children: Leah & Lauren of Mendota Heights, MN & Stephen Kahley of Denver, CO; Mother in law: Sandra Kabrick of Spencer, IA; Brothers in laws: Chris (Siri) Kabrick of Fairmont, MN & their children: Faith, Gracia and Norah, Ryan (Mandy) Kabrick of Spencer, & their children: Sophie & Lizzie; Nieces: Ashley (Jacob) Franker of Spencer & their child, Jace & Lindsay Kabrick and Brennan Holm of Ankeny, IA, & their child, Conrad; two uncles: Dan (Mary) Breidinger-Molly of Davenport, IA, and Joseph Jr. Breidinger of Anchorage, AK; One aunt: Kay Fether (Brant) of Modesto, CA; other relatives and many friends.
