Marlene Matilda Lenz

December 21, 1943 — October 18, 2015

Marlene Matilda Lenz, the daughter of Carl and Madeline (Koewler) Lenz, was born on December 21, 1943, in Storm Lake, IA. She grew up on a farm near Early, then Linn Grove through early grade school, at Rossie until high school and then Spencer where she graduated from Spencer High School in 1962. After high school, she attended NBT Business College in Sioux City. Following college, she worked in the business office at a nursing home. She moved to the Twin Cities where she worked at a law office, and then Contel Phone Company until 1999. She then took a job at TGF Bank until her retirement. She attended clown school and became a clown named Prism. She enjoyed creating greeting cards, knitting, crocheting, cooking, reading books, travel, and liked to do crafts. She loved her animals, Ziggy the rabbit, and Jack the cat. She cherished time with her nieces and nephews, spending many hours with them. Marlene passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015, at the age of 71 at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Patricia Graff. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters: Rosemary Kirby of Omaha, NE, Marjorie Madsen of Omaha, NE, Bonnie Madsen of Rembrandt, IA, Janice Wiemers of Spencer, IA, Sylvia Lenz of Clive, IA, and Betty Jo Ellis (Rick) of Keller, TX; her brothers: Carl "Bill" Lenz, Jr. (Margaret) of Onawa, IA, and Don Lenz of Cherokee, IA; her brother-in-law, Joe Graff of Spencer, IA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 22, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church; Spencer, Iowa Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association

VISITATION
Visitation with the family will be 5 - 7:00, Wednesday evening at the Warner Funeral Home. There will also be a 5:00 p.m. Rosary Service at the funeral home.
