Marli Jae Storm, the daughter of Brock and Jerrica (Kang) Storm, came into this world 15 weeks early under a shooting star. Born on November 14, 2011 in Estherville, Iowa weighing only 2 lbs. 3 oz., she was a micro-preemie with a ton of attitude. Hmm...wonder where she got that from. Marlis short, sweet life was spent at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, where she shared her amazing love with her parents; her grandparents: Dave and Tori Storm and Edward and LaTisha Miner, along with her aunt Paige Storm and uncle Jake Kang as well as many others who loved her dearly. Although she left us at only 6 weeks, she had stolen the hearts of all who knew her. Little Miss Marli had everyone wrapped around her tiny little fingers, including a colorful collection of sock-monkeys. She could command the entire Avera NICU in an instant, never giving her nurses a rest who worked tirelessly around the clock with the most incredible love and dedication. She managed from day one to escape like Houdini, from all her wraps and wires, with a huge determination that said, "Move over world...it's all about Marli." Without ever uttering a sound, her face, a window to her soul - said it all.
To My Baby Marli
So pretty, so little
So fragile, so perfect
All the pain and suffering we went through
Just to hold you once would be worth it
To take you to the park
To watch you scribble outside of the lines
Teach you how to throw a ball
Whatever you do will be divine
What I would do to hear you laugh
What I would give to see you smile
Look into your wonderful, big brown eyes
Hold you close for a while
Everyone is holding you
In their prayers and thoughts
People who haven't even met you yet
They really love you a lot
No more tears to wipe
No broken hearts to mend
Just know my baby girl
You'll be ours until the end
All my love, Mommy

Marli and Me
You are loved.
You are blessed.
A soft kiss goodbye,
As we lay you down to rest.
We will shower you with monkeys,
Shower you with love,
Shower you with tears,
Shower you with hugs.
I will always be your mommy,
We'll never truly be apart.
You will always be my baby,
Because I'll hold you in my heart.
My brave little angel -
Know that you will never be alone.
Remember to hold His hand tight,
As God welcomes you home.
My greatest act of love,
Is giving you away;
But I think it makes it easier,
Knowing I'll see you again someday.
What's a lifetime for me,
Will seem like moments for you.
But I'll be there,
In this world, the next, and all eternity through.
