Mary Alice Peterson

Mary Alice Krout Peterson, the daughter of Clarence (Bud) and Bessie (North) Krout was born November 30, 1936 in rural Storm Lake, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Storm Lake and Marathon where she received her education. She married Elwyn Leroy Peterson on April 10, 1954. To this marriage, 3 children were born: Sheri, Lori, and Jerry in Sioux Rapids, IA. They moved to Spencer in 1964 where she spent her remaining years. In 1980, she met her special friend Larry Struve. They enjoyed doing everything together. Mary worked at Eaton Corporation until her retirement at the age of 62. Mary was a hard worker and her family was her life. She especially enjoyed all of her grand children and great grandchildren who brought many moments of laughter and joy to her life. She passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at the age of 73. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her younger brother, Tom Krout. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Sheri and her husband, Richard Hallett and Lori and her husband, Lance Lundbeck of Royal, IA; one son, Jerry Peterson and his wife, Georganna of Fostoria, IA; her special friend, Larry Struve of Spencer, IA; 6 grand children; Tony Hallett and his wife, Kim of Spencer, IA, Corey Hallett and his wife, Amanda of Spencer, IA, Josh Johnson and Jessi Bailey of Spencer, IA, Alisha Johnson of Waterloo, IA, Amy Barajas of Spencer, IA, and Casey Peterson and Cassidy Carter of Spencer, IA; many great grandchildren: Jacob, Alexa, and Trenton Hallett, Emma, Alexander, and Joshlynn Johnson, Gabriel, Chey, Brendon, and Lilyanna Barajas, Trey Boyd, Cale Carter, Michelleci, Zachary, Koryi, and Tayler Bailey; one brother, Richard Krout and his wife Judy of Lakeside, IA; one sister, Betty Kuhn of Cherokee, IA; and many more relatives and friends.
