Mary Angela Dezeeuw

Mary Angela DeZeeuw, the daughter of Harold and Florence (Bultena) Hammerstrom, was born February 10, 1956 in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Orange City, where she received her education, graduating from Maurice-Orange City High School in 1974. After high school, she continued her education at Northwestern College in Orange City and later at Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City. After her marriage, she moved to Sioux City for 2 years and later moved to Spencer, Iowa in 1979, where she lived for the rest of her life. She worked at Hawkeye Bank for 5 years and later Farmer's Bank for 13 years, until her health issues forced her into early retirement. She was a member of Hope Reformed Church in Spencer. Mary also was a member of Delta Sigma Phi, where she was past president. She also enjoyed scrap booking in her spare time. Mary passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the age of 57. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Katie Marie DeZeeuw and a sister, Ellen Strong. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Jordan DeZeeuw and his wife, Tabitha of Colo, Iowa; her parents: Harold and Florence Hammerstrom of Spencer, IA; one brother, Glen Hammerstrom and his wife, Ruth of Carlisle, IA; one sister, Linda Porter and her husband, Randy of Hospers, IA; other relatives and many friends.
