Mary Lorraine Schwarck, the daughter of Ralph Woodward and Levon Campbell Woodward, was born February 20, 1920 in Sibley, Iowa. She graduated from high school at Dallas Center, Iowa in 1937.
On October 10, 1942, she married Paul Frank Schwarck in Battle Creek, Michigan shortly before he was transferred to the Southwest Pacific during WWII. Mary returned to Spencer, where she was employed at Northwest Bell Telephone. She later held various positions at Clay County Department of Social Services, and the Northwest Iowa Alcohol Drug Treatment Unit. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer, and the Daughter of the American Revolution.
Mrs. Schwarck passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Woodward and her husband, Paul.
Survivors include her son, John Schwarck and his wife, Carol of Columbus, OH; a daughter, Missy Reedy and her husband, Tom of Northbrook, IL; five grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Bill Schwarck and his wife, Ruth of Spencer; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
