Maurice Thilges

Maurice Thilges, the son of Arthur and Agnes Besch Thilges, was born March 12, 1952 in Algona, Iowa. He received his early education and graduated from Algona Garrigan High School in 1970. Maurice married Donna Baxter on February 23, 1990 in Spencer. Following their marriage, they made their home in Spencer. Maurice was employed with Snap On, Eaton Corporation, Spencer Coop Elevator and recently at Cooperative Energy in Sibley, Iowa. In his spare time, Maurice enjoyed talking with customers and co-workers, watching NASCAR, being outdoors and especially he loved spending time with his family. Mr. Thilges passed away on March 26, 2014 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 62. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dale Thilges and sister-in-law, Janie Thilges. He is survived by his wife, Donna of Spirit Lake, IA; 2 sons: Adam Thilges of Melbourne, FL and Matt Thilges of Spencer, IA; 2 step-sons: Travis (Becky) Kennedy of Spencer, IA and Mark (Nikki) Kennedy of Urbandale, IA; 5 grandchildren: Henry, Joseph, Edward, Jane, and Sophie; siblings: Kenny (Darlene Thilges of Algona, IA, Marvin Thilges of Algona, IA, Jeanette Thilges of Algona, IA, Donna Mae (Lou) Boyd of Fredericksberg, IA, Theresa Thilges of Algona, IA and Jerry (Becky) Thilges of Algona, IA; other relatives and friends.
