Maurine Logan

Maurine Holden Logan, the daughter of Charles and Florence (Talbot) Holden, was born on April 11, 1918, in Brooklyn, NY. Maurine was raised and attended school in Brooklyn until graduation. Maurine entered the military on January 13, 1944, serving in the U.S. Navy as a W.A.V.E. She was honorably discharged on February 16, 1946. Maurine married Robert Logan on May 17, 1947, in Brooklyn, NY. Following their marriage, the couple lived in several communities: Mt. Vernon and Yonkers, NY, St Louis, MO, Bethesda, MD and Southington, CT, before retiring to Spencer, to be near their daughter, Barbara. Maurine spent most of her working years in the Insurance business as a claims manager. In her spare time she enjoyed listening to music like Neil Diamond and the Big Band music. One of her favorite memories was attending a Josh Grobin concert with her daughter. She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. Maurine was a very active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Maurine passed away on Monday, November 28, 2011, at the St. Luke Lutheran Home. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert in 1995; and two brothers, John William Wayrich and C. Edward Holden. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Barbara Ambrosius of Spencer, IA; one granddaughter, Jennifer Petersen and her husband, Brent and their two children: Cody and Ty, all of Tea, SD; one grandson, Matthew Ambrosius and his wife, Jessica and their three children: Taylor, Willa and Norah; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

VISITATION
Will begin at Noon on Wednesday with the family present from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. at the Warner Chapel in Spencer. A Catholic Vigil Service will be held at 5:00 P.M.

INTERMENT
Riverside Cemetery Spencer, Iowa Memorials may be designated to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Music Department or Spencer Community Theatre
