Max Daniel Miller, the son of William and Henrietta Gerten Miller, was born, June 1, 1935 in Jackson, MN. He attended the Jackson Public School. He enjoyed hunting, horseback riding and was a member of the Saddle Club in Jackson. On October 30, 1952, he was united in marriage to Jacqueline J. Edlin at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Jackson, MN where he was employed in the lumber business. In 1967, Max opened a lumberyard in Everly that he owned and operated until his retirement. Upon retirement he moved to the lakes area. He was employed at Arnolds Park Amusement Park for five years where he enjoyed running the train for the little ones and visiting with people. In 2007, Max and Sue moved to Milford, IA. Max was diagnosed with cancer in October of 2009.
He was baptized and confirmed at the Presbyterian Church in Jackson, MN. He was a member of the Everly Lions Club, Everly Commercial Club and Everly Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed camping with his family and attending his children's sports activities in school. He enjoyed square dancing, bowling, carpentry, collecting videos, coins, playing cards and wintering in Scottsdale, AZ.
Max passed away on November 11, 2010 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa at the age of 75. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Max is survived by his wife, Jacqueline (Sue) Miller; sister, Ruth Miller of Plymouth, MN; his children: Daniel and Connie Miller of Terril, IA; Mike and Carol Miller of Urbandale, IA; Tim Miller of Brooklyn Park, MN; Cheryl and Dan Muhlbauer of Royal, IA, Ron and Suzy Miller of Adel, IA, Jeff Miller of Scottsdale, AZ, Paul and Tina Miller of Manteca, CA and David and Sara Miller of Milford, IA; 23 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the Warner Funeral Home in Everly.
