Maxine Rose Quee, the daughter of William and Gerde O. "Gertrude" Grans Tolley, was born February 22, 1921 in Peterson, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Spencer, where she received her education, graduating from Spencer High School.
Maxine married Carlton Oliver Quee on May 18, 1949 in Ft. Eustis, VA. Following their marriage, they lived in Spencer, Iowa, where she worked for the telephone office for 4 to 5 years and worked as a receptionist for the eye doctor for several years, until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer. Maxine was also active in the Combined Guild and the Hospital Auxiliary. She had recently received her 2000-hour volunteer service pin for her time at Spencer Hospital. Maxine had lived in her present home for all of her life.
Mrs. Quee passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Friday, November 2, 2007 at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Thelma Lachner.
She is survived by her husband, Carlton of Spencer; a daughter, Connie Kay Quee and her husband, Thomas Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her special friends: Mike & Mary Monroe, John & Ardis Heien and Lois Werts; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 5, 2007 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer.
