Merle James Campbell

November 23, 1945 — April 14, 2007

Merle J. Campbell, the son of Ren and Darlene Campbell, was born on November 23, 1945 in Hartley, Iowa. After growing up in Royal, Merle served in the military. When he returned home, he attended college to become a teacher. He later moved to Phoenix, Arizona and taught 27 years in the Roosevelt School District. Merle passed away on April 14, 2007 at Banner Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 61. He was preceded in death by his father, Ren Campbell; one brother, Bob Campbell and a sister-in-law, Janet Campbell. Merle is survived by his mother, Dar Campbell of Spencer; four sisters: Lela Warren of Spencer, Marilyn Stevenson and her husband, Irvin of Spencer, Carol Scott and her husband, Jim of Gillett Grove, Iowa, and Judy Peterson and her husband, Doug of Florida; one brother, Jack Campbell and his wife, Becky of Spencer, Iowa; other relatives and many friends.

SERVICES

Memorial Services will be held 7:00 P.M., Thursday, April 26, 2007 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
