Michael Dean Britton

Michael Dean Britton, the son of Rick and Mary Ellen Mills Britton, was born December 7, 1989 in Spencer, Iowa. He attended kindergarten at Johnson Elementary School in Spencer and then continued his schooling at Sioux Central in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. Mike was a very outgoing young man who enjoyed being in several activities. He was involved in Baseball, lettered in Cross Country, lettered in Basketball which was his favorite sport, lettered in Band where he played the drums, Jazz Band, lettered in Choir and participated in coed Dance Attack and school plays. Mike played in the Top 64 Basketball Summer League and was the emcee at his school Prom this year. Outside of school activities, Mike was in 4-H, First Congregational Church Youth Group, Sioux Valley Appaloosa Club, Appaloosa Youth World Show and he placed 10th in the Nation in Youth Western Pleasure in 2006. He was also a great Hawkeye Fan. Mike had accomplished many achievements at his young age and due to a tragic accident, he was taken from us on July 14, 2007 at the age of 17. Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Rick and Mary Britton of Peterson, IA; his brother, Justin at home in Peterson; his sisters: Melissa Hesner & her husband, Kevin of Winthrop, IA and their children: Jacob & Ben, Terri Cuttell & her husband, Greg of Spencer, IA and their children: Tatum & Scott, and Rachel Nelson of Rapid City, SD; his grandparents: Clifford & Charlotte Britton of Polk City, IA and George & Emma Mills of Hartley, IA; his aunts and uncles; other relatives and his many friends.
