Mildred Kathleen Reineke-Schutt

October 25, 1915 — February 24, 2007

Mildred Kathleen Reineke-Schutt, the daughter of John Henry and Elsie Spieker Kroll, was born October 25, 1915 in Ida County, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Cushing, Iowa, where she received her education in a country school. Mildred married Lester Reineke on August 15, 1934 in Holstein, Iowa. Following their marriage they lived on farm southwest of Holstein in Logan Township. Mildred was a homemaker and helped Lester on the farm. She attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Holstein. They moved an acreage near Sutherland when they retired in 1970. At that time, she began working as a nursing assistant in Paullina. Lester passed away in 1987. She married Walter Schutt on October 11, 1989 in Storden, MN. Following their marriage, the couple continued to live in Sutherland. Mildred loved the farm life, taking care of the farm animals, raising flowers, crocheting and being outdoors. She was currently a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland. Mildred passed away at the River Park Health Care Center in Rock Island, Illinois on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Lester in 1987; her second husband, Walter in 1989; one son, Wendell in 2001; 7 brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her children: Loyd and his wife, Sharon of Cherokee, IA, Oliver and his wife, Mercedes of Pensecola, FL, Patricia Howard of Akron, IA, Mary Reineke and Eddie Scott of Rock Island, IL, Steven Reineke of Archer, IA and Junior and his wife, Jean of Boone, IA; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, March 5, 2007 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland.
