Mildred 'Milly' Marcella Black

September 22, 1923 — June 23, 2015

Mildred Marcella Black, the daughter of Raymond and Mary Konrady Halling, was born September 22, 1923 on a farm near Schaller, Iowa. She received her early education in country schools, graduating from Cornell High School in Cornell, Iowa in 1941. On May 29, 1946, Milly was united in marriage to Robert Black at the First Christian Church in Spencer. Following their marriage, they lived in Spencer. They had two daughters: Jean and Julie. Milly accepted Jesus as her Savior in April 1959. She was baptized and became an active member of First Baptist Church, Spencer, Iowa. She enjoyed helping with Vacation Bible School for many years. She was also active in Missionary Helpers and helped with a bible study at Northshire Residence. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and reading. Milly passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Jean Black; three sisters: Dorothy Alexander, Violet Ellis and Rae LaVonne Krogh. Mildred is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter, Julie MacNeil and her husband, Jerry of Nashua, New Hampshire; one granddaughter, Marina MacNeil of Worcester, Massachusetts; a brother-in-law, Richard Alexander of Spirit Lake, IA; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M., Friday, June 26, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Spencer.

Riverside Cemetery Spencer, Iowa Everyone in attendance at the service is welcome to join the family for a time of fellowship, cake and coffee at the First Baptist Church In Spencer immediately following the graveside services.
