Mildred 'Millie' Matilda Olhausen, the daughter of Peter Frederick and Ethel Maude (Parish) Toft, was born June 29, 1921 in Royal, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Royal, where she received her education, graduating from Royal High School.
Millie married Fred Olhausen in 1939 in Jackson, MN. Following their marriage, they continued to live in Royal, where they ran the Champion Gas Station. Millie served as Postmaster for the town of Royal from 1950 until her retirement in 1988. She was a past member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal and was a current member of the United Methodist Church in Royal. She was very community minded and was a big supporter of Royal. She enjoyed going out to eat with her husband and cared for her husband's mother for 14 years.
Millie passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred in September of 1985; one son, Quentin; Three brothers: Thomas, Arnold and Chris Toft and a sister, Rhoda McFarland.
Left to cherish her memory is one brother, Percy Toft of Spencer; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M., Thursday, August 16, 2012,at the United Methodist Church in Royal.
