Milton Allen 'Muck' Roberts

Milton Allen Roberts, the son of Carlton and Bernice (St. John) Roberts, was born on September 13, 1929, in Fostoria, Iowa. He was raised on a farm and received his early education in country schools and then attended school in Arnolds Park where he graduated. Following high school, he worked for the railroad for a short time. He then went to work for Spencer Foods. Muck worked there for 30 years, he was a very dedicated and loyal hard worker. He married Betty Lane of Spencer and to this union four children were born: Linda, Terry, Rodney and Peggy. He later married Patricia Hibbs and had two children: Kimberly and Kevin. He has spent over 20 years with his special friend, Sharon "Sherry" Small. Muck loved horses, his whole life was about them. He raised thoroughbreds, he trained them and then he would sell them. He enjoyed participating in chuck wagon races and was sponsored by area teams. He loved to play cards, especially poker and pinochle. He had a good sense of humor and loved to tease people. Milton was very dedicated to his mother and visited her every day. Muck passed away on June 8, 2017, at the Pearl of the Valley Care Center in Sutherland, he was 87. Preceding him in death were parents; his son, Rodney; his daughter, Peggy Petersen; his brother, Barney and his son-in-law, Dan Borchard. Left to cherish his memory are his Children: Linda Borchard of Milliken, CO, Terry Roberts (Judy) of Berthoud, CO, Kimberly Karnstedt (Kurt) of Davenport, IA and Kevin Roberts (Judi) of Huntsville, AL; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
