Miriam Roberta Eaton, the daughter of Clarence and Anna (Heisler) Eaton, was born on June 5, 1930, in Spencer, Iowa. She was raised and received her early education in Dickens until the 8th grade, when the family moved to Sheldon where she finished her education graduating in 1948.
Miriam held various jobs in the Spencer community after high school, before going to work for John Greer, where she stayed for over four years. She then started working for the Spencer Hospital in the dietary department. She held that position for 36 years. Miriam was a member of the First English Lutheran Church. She liked to play cards, bingo, go on vacation with her friends and was an avid collector of teddy bears. She also loved her pet cats she had over the years. Miriam was a very kind person who loved to visit and was very interested in people and what was going on in their lives.
On Tuesday, December 10, 2013, Miriam passed away at the Spencer Hospital, at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Ruth Vail of Spencer, IA; her nephew, Nick Vail and his wife Marsha of Carpinteria, CA; two nieces: Cindy Smith and her husband, Don of Fountain, CO and Sue Koenig and her husband, Marty of Sioux Rapids, IA; 5 great nieces and nephews: Jamie Koenig, Kelcy Koenig, Austin Smith, Samantha Smith and Adina Vail; 2 very special great-great nephews: Aiden and Ashtyn Macias; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
