Monika Beatta Gray, the daughter of Herold and Maria (Offenbacher) Otto, was born on April 30, 1955, in Mannheim, Germany. She was raised and received her early education there, graduating from high school.
Monika married Richard Gray on November 15, 1972, in Manheim, Germany. After Rick's military service the couple moved to a farm north of Spencer, for a short time before moving to Dickens in 1975. Monika worked at AALFS here in Spencer where they made blue jeans. She worked there for a little over 10 years before going to work for Eaton's until her retirement. Monika was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and was involved in the Royal Jaycees for a short time. She was in the Iowa Great Lakes Fishing Club and the Moose Lodge in Spencer. She was involved in a bowling league and bowled for Spencer Truck Line. She liked to play card games and bingo.
She passed away on January 16, 2016, at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 60.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Rick in 2014.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons: Heath of Dickens, IA and John and his wife, Nicole of Cherokee, IA; 4 grandchildren: Dalton, Mercedes, Brooklyn and Ava; one great grandchild, Reghan; her sisters: Ilona, Lioba and Marion; her brothers: Gilbert, Siegbert, Karl Heinz and Albert; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be 10:30A.M., Friday, January 22, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:30 - 7:30 P.M., Thursday evening at the Warner Funeral Home.
There will also be a Vigil Service at 5:00 P.M., Thursday evening at the Warner Funeral Home.
