Muriel Jean Schmidt

Muriel Jean Schmidt, the daughter of Hans and Wilna (Reismann) Kruse, was born April 6, 1936 in Spencer, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in the Greenville/Rossie area, where she received her education, graduating from Greenville/Rossie High School. Muriel married Arvin Schmidt on February 6, 1955 in Royal, IA. Following their marriage, they farmed in Everly, IA from 1955 until 1978, when they moved to Manilla, Iowa, where they lived for 15 years While in Manilla, she sold Avon products for 11 years. They retired and moved back to Everly, Iowa, where they continued to live. She was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Everly, where she was a member of the Hope Lutheran Women's group and was church organist since 1962. Muriel also enjoyed gardening. She passed away at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota on Monday, October 17, 2010 at the age of 74. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Marty Schmidt in 1978. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Arvin of Everly; her children: Kimberly Webb and her husband, Jerry of Rush City, MN, Bradley Schmidt and his wife, Susan of Hartley, IA, Nancy Sills and her husband, Michael of Marshalltown, IA and Linda Raid and her husband, John of Cedar Rapids, IA; 9 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly.

Visitation will begin 4:00 P.M., Tuesday October 19, 2010 with the family present from 6 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday Evening at the Warner Funeral Home in Everly.
