Myrtle Marie Egger

Myrtle M. Egger, the daughter of Arthur and Rickie (Schultz) Wise was born December 25, 1916 in Oto, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Oto where she received her education in Oto schools. She was baptized in the Congregational Church in Oto. Myrtle married Everett Egger of Holly Springs, Iowa, on November 12, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri. Following their marriage, they farmed and lived near Primghar, Iowa, until 1984, when they moved into town. Myrtle cherished her six daughters, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. She loved making blankets for them with her embroidered handprint in the corner. She loved cutting quilt blocks for the churches, polka music, word search, church programs on Sunday morning, family dinners and drop in coffee guests. Myrtle passed away at the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley, Iowa, on Sunday, July 19, 2015, at the age of 98. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett in 1985; seven brothers and sisters; great-grandson, Kristopher Hansen; grandson, Troy Woolworth; son-in-law, Ludwig Hansen; and grandson-in-law, Bobby Lund. She is survived by her six daughters: Susan Hansen of Marshall, WI, Sandra Scharnberg and husband, Jerry of Hartley, IA, Sally Vandersloot and husband, Gerrit of Primghar, IA, Sidney Woolworth and husband, Terry of Dakota City, NE; Sybil Magnuson and husband, Bill of Glenwood, IA; and Sharon Roos and husband, Jeff of Primghar, IA; 21 grandchildren; 34 great- grandchildren; one sister, Betty Guida of Arizona; two sisters-in-law, Augusta Overeen of Spencer, IA, and Iola Wise of Akron, CO; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the United Church of Primghar.
