Myrtle Rausch

February 15, 1923 — March 3, 2014

Mrs. Rausch was born February 15, 1923, at Center Grove, the daughter of Walter and Olive Swanson Banning. She received her education in Royal. She married Wilbur (Bill) Rausch on June 21, 1943, at Spencer. She and her husband were cafe' owners in Arnolds Park and Spencer. She enjoyed dancing at the Eagles with her husband and singing. Myrt never drove a car until after her husbands death. Then her son-in-law, Warren Simpson taught her to drive, during which he calmly asked her to slow down just a little since she was going 80 mph down the highway. After that, she enjoyed driving herself around, golfing, bingo, fishing, picnics and spending time with family. Surivors include one son, Bob Rausch and Judy, of Spencer, IA; one daughter, Betty Simpson and Warren, of Schaller, IA; 8 grandchildren; Grant, Michelle, Warren, Jessica, Caleb, Sheena, Evan, Tori, and 2 step-grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; Ella, Mira, Maryn, Nora, Lienna and Ariel ; all the CNA's and caretakers she adopted as grandchildren through the years and too numerous friends to mention. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, son Bill, three sisters; Fern, Anna and Marion.
