Nadine Mae Burgeson

Nadine Mae Burgeson, the daughter of Arthur and Ida Conley Myrick, was born on the family farm near Pleasant Lake, Spirit Lake, Iowa the youngest of 8 children. She received her early education in Terril and in 1938 her family moved to a farm by Superior and she then graduated from the Superior High School in 1944. She attended Iowa Teachers School in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Later, Nadine attended Buena Vista College where she earned her degree. Nadine taught school in Peterson, Arnolds Park and Terril before she married LeRoy Glade on June 11, 1950 at the United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake, IA. LeRoy died suddenly on September 17, 1951, Nadine then taught school in Estherville and then Storm Lake, Iowa. On June 29, 1966, Nadine married Glen Burgeson, following their marriage, she taught school in Sutherland, Iowa. Nadine was a member of the United Methodist Church in Peterson where she played in the Bell Choir. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The past 5 winters, Nadine enjoyed her home in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. Nadine passed away on October 17, 2007 at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 81. She is preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; 5 sisters: Irene Tritle, Helen Myrick, Neva Wilson, Bernice Lloyd and Nelda Hassman; 2 brothers: Ralph and Darwin Myrick; one great granddaughter: Katherine Mae Mills. She is survived by her three step-sons and their wives: Rodney and Lorna Burgeson of Spirit Lake, IA, Norman and Carol Burgeson of Centerville, OH and Jeffrey and Rolle Burgeson of Downers Grove, IL; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 19 nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
