Nancy Carol Jungjohan

Nancy Carol Jungjohan, the daughter of Leroy and Dorothy (Phillips) Pingel, was born March 24, 1944 in Cherokee, IA. Her life was spent in Sutherland, IA, where she received her education, graduating from Sutherland High School. Nancy married Gary Jungjohan on September 1, 1961 in Sutherland, IA. They have been farming north of Sutherland for the entire 48 years. In addition to being a dedicated farmwife and mother, Nancy worked as an aide for Home Health 17 years and was active as a 4H leader for 12 years. Nancy and Gary enjoyed spending time with each other and their family at their lake home in Okoboji. She was baptized, confirmed and an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland. Nancy passed away at their lake home in Okoboji on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the age of 66. Her parents and one brother, Bob Pingel, preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gary of Sutherland; her children: Terri Schroeder of Sutherland, Wendi and her husband, Kevin Eipperle of Dubuque, IA, Jodi and her husband, Brad Smith of Primghar, IA, Craig and his wife, Deb Jungjohan of Alton, IA and Cory and his wife, Shannon Jungjohan of Spirit Lake, IA; 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; one sister, Cheryl and her husband, Frank Fogelman of Sutherland, IA; several other relatives and many friends.
