Nancy Lou Glackin, the daughter of Harry and Carol (Hoke) Harson, was born August 2, 1938, in Hampton, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Emmetsburg, IA, where she received her education.
Nancy married Alvin Glackin on June 18, 1960, in Emmetsburg, IA. During their marriage, she worked as a bookkeeper at Dickens Elevator and later West Bend Elevator for a total of 28 years until her retirement. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, playing cards and reading.
She passed away at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at the age of 77. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin in 1987; four brothers: Robert, Harold and two in infancy; and one sister, Bernita Dunham.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Barbara Glackin of Portland, Oregon, Thomas Glackin and his wife, Maria of Ottumwa, IA, Janet Dillard and her husband, Richard of Dickens, IA, and Anita Drummond and her husband, Jeff of Sioux Falls, SD; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four sisters: Marion Morgan of Storm Lake, IA, Lowene Heaverlo of Council Bluffs, IA; Janice Christensen of Alta, IA and Carol Douglas of Spencer, IA; one brother, Donald Harson of Hartley, IA; special friend, Dwain Oviatt of Spencer, IA; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.
A Catholic Vigil Service will be held at 4:30 P.M., Monday at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
