Nancy Mae Stanislav

Nancy Mae Stanislav, the daughter of Charles and Nellie (Greenwalt) Nuice, was born November 20, 1936, in Fredrick, Maryland. Her childhood years were spent in Maryland where she received her education, graduating from Fredrick High School in 1953. Following her schooling, she worked as a telephone operator in Washington, DC, where she met Lawrence 'Larry' Stanislav and they married on January 14, 1956, in Washington, DC. They moved to Blencoe, IA, in 1956 and later to Spencer, IA, where they raised their family and spent the rest of their lives together. Nancy worked at Spencer Vet Supply and also a teacher's aide at the Spencer Middle School for over 23 years. She was an active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. Nancy loved to collect and shop and was a 'hobby freak'. She was also a member of the LaDanza Club and Questers. Nancy passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, IA, on Friday, December 16, 2011, at the age of 75. She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers: one young boy and Larry Nuice. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Larry of Spencer, IA; two daughters: Ronette Schumann and husband, Mike of Richmond, Kentucky, Ronda Froehle and husband, Mike of Cedar Falls, IA; one son, Gregg Stanislav and wife, Kim of Spencer, IA; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; one sister, Caroline Green and husband, John of Maryland; other relatives and friends.
