Nathan Andrew Beck

Nathan Andrew Beck, the son of Norman and Janice (Harmonson) Beck, was born November 16, 1980 in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in the Spencer area, where he received his early education in Clay Central Everly School. He spent his freshman year of high school at Sisseton, SD, until moving back to Spencer to graduate from Spencer High School. After high school, Nathan worked for Anything Accessories, Maurer Manufacturing, StyleCraft, LaserWash, and Walmart, before moving to Texas for a short period of time. In 2002, he moved back to Spencer, where he worked for Audio Video Connection for the last 10 years. Along with his work, Nate grew-up with a passion for farming alongside his Grandpa Ralph. He was always coming up with ideas as to what he could invent or 'rig up' next. His intelligence was immeasurable, and what came naturally to Nate, would require a four-year degree by most. Nate passed away at his home on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the age of 32. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Beck in 1985; a baby sister, Dakota Sioux West; his grandmother, Shelba Harmonson in 2005 and his grandfather, Ralph in 2008. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Janice Roberts of Sisseton, SD; his sister, Jennifer Beck of Brandon, SD; his brothers, Luke (Cesia) Dietrich of Superior, IA; Sawyer Roberts of Sisseton, SD; his grandmother, Dorothy Beck of Spencer; his grandfather, Rev. Ross Harmonson of Spencer; his nieces and nephews: Taylen, Scarlett, Kyan, Izaak, Elijah, & Beaudyn; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; other relatives, including his Sarg's family; and many, many friends. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established by the family.
