Nicholas William Steffen, the son of Monica Luedke and Bill Steffen was born September 16, 1977 in Storm Lake, IA. His childhood years were spent in Storm Lake as well as in Spencer, where he received his education, graduating from Spencer High School in 1996. He lived most of his life in Spencer and for a short time in Paullina. Nick worked at the Spencer Country Club and Longhouse Northshire. He was a master chef.
Besides spending time with his family and friends, Nick had a passion for music and enjoyed playing the drums, guitar and singing. Nick is known for his quick wit and big heart-he always put others before himself. Oftentimes Nick would be wearing one of his many black concert t-shirts or his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers attire.
Nick passed away in Primghar, IA on Friday, August 20, 2021 at the age of 43. He is survived by his mother, Monica Luedke of Spencer and his father, Bill (Karen) Steffen of Storm Lake; sister Christy (Jason) Comisky of Ankeny; Uncle Dan (Lucy) Luedke, Queen Creek, AZ; Uncle Bob Luedke, Storm Lake; Aunt Kaylene Luedke, Spencer; Aunt Barbara (Dick) Geisinger, Cherokee; Uncle Tom (Diane) Steffen, Maple Grove, MN and many cousins and other relatives. Nick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gale and Colleen Luedke and Bill and Bonnie Steffen and his uncle, Larry Luedke.
Nick will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace, Bear…Love you to the moon and back.
