Nick Udorvich, the son of Paul and Anna Lockmer Udorvich, was born August 13, 1918, in Madrid, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Madrid where he received his education, graduating from Madrid High School. Following high school he entered the military and served with the Army Air Force during WW II from 1941 until his honorable discharge in 1945. After his discharge from the military, Nick lived in Bridgeport, CT, and was married for a short period of time and to this union was born a son, Michael.
After returning to Iowa, Nick married Bernice Westerman on November 20, 1953, in Sioux City, Iowa. After their marriage, they made their home in Sioux City where he held several sales jobs. They moved to Spencer, Iowa, where Nick and Bernice purchased Lindsay Soft Water which they operated for 10 years. He later sold insurance and real estate for several years, and then worked as a sales rep for Preferred Advertising for 34 years until his retirement in 2004. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Spencer. He was a member of the VFW, Sioux City Abu Bekr Shrine and Spencer ATV Corps. Nick enjoyed bowling, fishing, watching baseball and football on TV, feeding birds and squirrels and especially playing golf in his spare time.
Nick passed away at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer, Iowa, on Friday, September 21, 2007, at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bernice on May 23, 2007; his sisters: Anna and Mary Udorvich, Zora Janovick and his brothers: Paul, Bill and Frank Udorvich.
He is survived by his 2 sons: Michael Mallin of Sylva, NC and David Udorvich and his wife, Kathy of Cedar Park, TX; 1 daughter, Debra Hinkeldey and her husband, Craig of Spencer, IA; 5 grandchildren; several great- grandchildren; three sisters: Katherine Peterson of Harcourt, IA, Josephine Schaumberg of Des Moines, IA and Esther Basinger of Mason City, IA and; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at the First Christian Church in Spencer.
