of Oregon City, Oregon formerly of Spencer, Iowa.
Nina was born the daughter of Dale and Edith Clark Brott on Oct. 1, 1917 at Orleans, Iowa. She received early education near Ruthven, Iowa and graduated from high school there in 1935. She married Eugene Huffman at Spencer, Iowa in 1942 and they lived in Spencer while Eugene served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. They moved to Walla Walla, Washington in 1946, following his discharge from the Army. While there, she worked for the Westgard Dental Laboratory for 8 � years.
After a move to Portland, Oregon in 1963, Nina was employed for 13 years in the medical records department of Emanuel Hospital in Portland. Following her husband's retirement, they moved to Ruthven in 1976, where they purchased the Brott family farm home and spent their years remodeling the home and working part time for the First Christian Church in Spencer until Gene's death on Jan. 30, 1984. Following her husband's death, Nina moved to Canby, Oregon to be near children and grandchildren. Nina was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Oregon City, Oregon.
Nina is survived by her son, Philip Huffman of Canby and Alaska; 2 daughters: Elaine Yadon of Boise, Idaho and Edie Huffman Neihart of Clackamas, Oregon; a sister, Hazel Mooney of Indiana and a brother, William Brott of Iowa; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Max Brott, and 2 sisters, Mary Sangl and Velma Osborn.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Faith Pentecostal Church in Spencer.
