Nola Irene Tesch

August 30, 1912 — March 20, 2013

Nola Irene Tesch, the daughter of H. Emil and Mary (Lohrman) Hansen, was born August 30, 1912 in Everly, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Everly, where she started at Everly country schools without speaking any English. Nola's family moved to a farm near Colgate, ND when she was a young child, and she received her education, graduating from Colgate High School. Following her graduation, she returned to the Everly area. Nola married Raymond Tesch on February 24, 1934 in Primghar, IA. Following their marriage, they lived on the farm south of Everly for the next 40 years, until retiring and moving to Spencer, IA in 1973. She worked as school cook in Moneta for a number of years and later worked as a cook at Longhouse Residence Following Raymond's death, she moved to a home in Everly in 1985 and had been a resident of Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley since 2009. She was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Everly, where she was a member of the Women's Club, the Altar Committee and was a longtime church volunteer. Nola also enjoyed crafts, crocheting, sewing and was a seamstress for Eddie Quinn's for a period of time. She also enjoyed gardening and could be seen pulling weeds in her big straw hat. Nola passed away at the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley, Iowa on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the age of 100. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond on July 18, 1984; one brother, Waldo Hansen; one daughter, Donna Schoelerman; a son-in-law, Merlyn Schoelerman; and a grandson, Randy Schoelerman Left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Debbie Vagle of Trimont, MN; three sons: Robert (Marlis) Tesch of Everly, Orlyn (Leslie) Tesch of Hartley and Arvin (Patty) Tesch of Everly; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Hope Lutheran Church in Everly.

Visitation will begin 4:00 P.M., Sunday with the family present from 4 to 7:00 P.M., Sunday at the Warner Funeral Home in Everly.

INTERMENT
Lone Tree Cemetery Everly, Iowa A lunch and time of fellowship will be held immediately following the graveside services at the Hope Lutheran Church in Everly.
