Norma Jean Johnson

Norma Jean Johnson, the daughter of Raymond and Bertha Mildred (Hamrick) Daugherty, was born on May 13, 1929 in Greenville, Iowa. The family later moved to Gillette Grove, Iowa, where Norma attended school until the age of 10. She later returned to Greenville where she graduated high school. Norma married John W. Johnson on October 23, 1947. They then moved to Spencer, Iowa where they raised their 6 children. During this time she worked as a CNA at Longhouse nursing home in Spencer. In 1974, Norma and John moved their family to Sutherland, Iowa where they lived until John passed away in 1998. Norma then returned to Spencer, Iowa to live out her remaining years. Norma passed away on October 11, 2012 at Spencer Municipal Hospital at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mildred Daugherty, her husband, John Johnson, one daughter, Frances Marshall, one son, Harland Johnson, and one son-in-law, Robert G. Marshall. Norma is survived by one brother, Jerry (Sharon) Daugherty of Milford, IA and one sister, Betty (Gerald) Thomas of Farnhamville, IA. She is also survived by four children; Mary (Tom_ O'Hara of Minneapolis, MN, Barbara (John) Edwards of Waukegan, IL, Marion (Barb) Johnson of Storm Lake, IA, and Phyllis (Randy) Fahlenkamp of Hartley, IA. She was a loving grandmother to 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 21 great-great grandchildren and 5 great-great-great grandchildren.
SERVICES
Memorial services will take place 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 24, at the Warner Funeral Chapel in Spencer.

Visitation will take place one hour before the service, Saturday, November, 24 at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
