Norma Newell

March 19, 1921 — August 26, 2008

Norma Marjorie Newell, the daughter of Norman and Susan Smith Behl, was born March 19, 1921 in Hettinger, ND. Her childhood years were spent in Hettinger, where she received her education. Following her schooling, she worked at her family produce and shoe repair business. Norma married William George Newell on August 5, 1940 in Baker, Montana. Following their marriage, they lived in several communities in Minnesota, including Delft, MN and Mountain Lake, MN, where they lived for many years. They later moved to Bingham Lake, MN, where they lived in their later years. Following her husband's death in 1965, she continued to live in Bingham Lake until 10 years ago, when she moved to Sutherland. Norma had recently moved to the Sutherland Care Center, where she had resided at the time of her death. Norma passed away at the Sutherland Care Center on Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill in 1965; her son, Larry in 1970 and four sisters: Fern, Goldie, Sylvie and Berniece. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Marjorie Gregg of Tuquilla, Washington, Dale and his wife, Chris Newell of Meridan, IA, David and his wife, Mary Newell of Primghar, IA and Dwain and his wife, Karey of Lakefield, MN; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 29, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Sutherland. The family would like to invite those in attendance to join them for a short time of coffee and cookies in the basement of the church before they leave to go to the cemetery in Windom.

VISITATION
Will begin at 2:00pm on Thursday with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Warner Funeral Home in Sutherland.

INTERMENT
Graveside Services will be held at 1:00pm at the Lakeview Cemetery in Windom, MN Jan Wassenaar will officiate.
