Opal Irene Hoyne, the daughter of George Edwin and Mabel Adella Madsen Williamson, was born July 28, 1924 in Storm Lake, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in the Greenville, Iowa area, where she received her education, graduating from Greenville Consolidated School. Following her schooling, she worked at Scott's Variety Store in Spencer.
Opal married Kenneth Hoyne on August 14, 1949 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer. Following their marriage, they lived in Spencer, where she worked as an accountant for Pixler Electric for many years. Opal enjoyed bowling and at one time was the top rated female bowler in Spencer. She continued bowling throughout most of her life and maintained a 165 average until she was in her 70's. She also enjoyed golfing, dancing and taking care of her family. One of the favorite things she enjoyed throughout her life, was traveling to Leaf Lake, Minnesota for 60 years sometimes three times a year to share times with her friends and family until her health stopped her from going just in the last few years.
Opal passed away at the Baum-Harmon Hospital in Sutherland, Iowa on Monday, December 13, 2010 at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Helen and Arlyne and a brother, Lloyd.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Kenneth of Sutherland; two sons: Kenneth and his wife, Wendy of Sioux Falls, SD and Roger and his wife, Sheri of Olympia, WA; five grandchildren: Dalton (Lisa), Dustin (Alicia), Allison, Ellen and Lauren; two sisters: Amber Stanton and Ruth (Jerry) DeBettignies; one brother, Myrl Williamson; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 17, at the United Methodist Church in Sutherland, Iowa.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, December 16 with the family present from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Warner Funeral Home in Sutherland.

Burial will be at Buena Vista Memorial Park in Storm Lake, IA at 1:30 p.m., Friday, following the lunch at the church.
